Intemperismo, ou meteorização, é o processo físico e químico de decomposição e desagregação de rochas na superfície terrestre, moldando o relevo e formando o solo. Ele ocorre através de diferentes tipos, como físico (desagregação mecânica), químico (decomposição por reações químicas) e biológico (ação de organismos vivos).
Esta série de pinturas parte da ideia de que a escuridão não é ausência, mas potência. No solo, abaixo da superfície visível, a terra abriga processos fundamentais de transformação: decomposição, germinação, enraizamento e crescimento. É um espaço ativo, fértil e vivo, onde a vida se organiza longe do olhar imediato. Ao mesmo tempo, a noite e a escuridão acionam a imaginação humana, abrindo um campo no qual o desconhecido, o medo e a curiosidade coexistem. As formas sugeridas nas pinturas, silhuetas, organismos, raízes e presenças indefinidas, operam nesse limiar entre o que é visto e o que é imaginado, entre o mundo material e o mundo simbólico.
This series of paintings is based on the idea that darkness is not an absence, but a form of potential. Beneath the visible surface, the soil harbors fundamental processes of transformation: decomposition, germination, rooting, and growth. It is an active, fertile, and living space where life unfolds beyond immediate sight. At the same time, night and darkness activate the human imagination, opening up a field in which the unknown, fear, and curiosity coexist. The forms suggested in the paintings—silhouettes, organisms, roots, and undefined presences—operate at the threshold between what is seen and what is imagined, between the material world and the symbolic realm.
